Which fade you are asking for

A low fade keeps the taper down near the ear and the neckline, so the change is subtle and grows out softly. A mid fade starts the blend around the temple. A high fade takes it up level with the top of the head, and a skin fade takes the shortest part down to the skin itself. Bald fade and zero fade mean the same thing as a skin fade.

Straight, wavy, curly and coily hair all fade differently: the same guard leaves a different line on each, and curly hair shows a blend sooner than straight hair does. That is the part that takes the time, which is why the cut is booked for its full length rather than squeezed.

Where the occipital bone stands out, he keeps the weight over that zone and takes the taper low, because a high fade there exposes it rather than flatters it. Designs, line ups and beards

A freehand design or a hard part can be added to any fade. So can a line up, which is the crisp edge along the hairline and temples. If you want the beard shaped in the same appointment, book the full cut instead of the regular one: it is the same haircut with the beard worked in, and it is booked for longer because it takes longer.
