On its own, or with the cut

A beard trim on its own is the shorter appointment: the shape tidied, the cheek and neck lines reset, the length evened. It is what most people want two or three weeks after a haircut, when the cut is still fine and the beard is not.

If the hair needs doing too, the full cut is the one to book. It is the haircut with the beard worked in, in a single longer appointment, and it costs less than booking the two separately would.

The lines are the work

Most of what makes a beard look deliberate rather than grown is where the two lines sit: the cheek line above and the neck line below. Too high on the neck and it looks shaved off; too low and it reads as untidy no matter how well the length is cut. Getting those right on your jaw, and keeping them where they can be maintained, is the part worth paying somebody for.

Growing one out

If you are growing a beard rather than keeping one, come anyway. The awkward weeks are shorter when the edges are kept clean and the patchy parts are worked around rather than cut into. Say that is what you are doing when you book and the appointment is used differently.
